Abigail Martin started this petition to Greenville County Schools

As of recently, the novel coronavirus has invaded the US. Schools are making sure to keep their mouths closed about it, but students need to be educated about keeping themselves safe. Not only from coronavirus, but also from the seasonal flu, of which we’re not being nearly cautious enough as we should. I believe students should be taught about preventing infections not only at school, but at home and in public as well. This will raise awareness of these fatal viruses. Reminders should be posted in the halls, hand sanitizer (though ineffective against corona) should be made readily available, and, ideally, hand washing stations should be set up. If a student is seen sneezing or coughing, they should be reminded to do that into their elbow to prevent the spread of those droplets. Learn more about the spread and symptoms of the virus at the CDC website (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html It’s important to keep our kids educated about threats to their health.
