In recent months the two car parks surrounding the Travellers Rest car park in Wideopen, Newcastle upon Tyne have adopted a zero tolerance approach to users of the car park who are not using the pub.

Why is this a problem?

the pub is right in the centre of the village next to a parade of shops including a post office and pharmacy which are key items of a community. Those who are most vulnerable use these facilities but now have no where to park.

What needs to change?

whilst I would love for the parking restrictions to be removed entierly, should this not be welcome I would like them to consider one or more of the dollowing

1) provision of a 1 hour grace time to allow people to visit post office, pharmacy or other local stores.

2) suspension of parking restrictions outside of pub opening hours.
