Re-issue of Green Day tickets following the cancelled Glasgow gig instead of a refund.

Around 30,000 fans are left upset after PCL Presents (the events organisers) had cancelled the Green Day concert at Bellahouston Park on Tuesday 4th of July.

They had decided to cancel the upcoming show, 30 MINUTES before the doors were due to open, they blamed it on the "adverse weather conditions" which seems untrue because the stage wasnt even fully built and we had SLIGHT rain throughout the night and morning. We had then realised that staff from PCL never showed up to help build the stage etc and this ultimately enabled the stage to be seen as unfit for purpose.

People had already started to queue from around 6am on Tuesday morning and people had come from Poland, Liverpool, Aberdeen, Spain and many other cities and countries. People had taken time off of work, some had spent money on a hotel room, train and flight tickets and more.

I understand the stage may have been deemed unfit for use HOWEVER they could have informed us on the situation earlier than half an hour before the doors were due to open. People had left their homes to get to the venue in time for the doors opening to then be refused entry.

Green day have issued their statement, as well as the individual members of the band, who were distraught at the decision made by PCL. Green day had stated that they didnt care if it was raining "f*cking sideways" however they had the safety and happiness in the best interests of both themselves and us as fans.

Now apparently, with regards to tickets. Companies have made millions of pounds off of us. They are deciding to issue around 30,000 fans with a refund. I dont know about anyone else but me and a few other fans DO NOT want a refund. We would like to be re-issued with tickets to the "supposed rescheduled Glasgow date" Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool, Mike Dirnt had all posted on their social medias stating that they shall be back as soon as they can, leaving us in the dark. Now obviously they cant pick and choose a date of when to come back, i get that this takes time and planning etc. But for us dedicated fans who bought tickets and showed up early to the venue etc, we should NOT be issued  refund, we should get a presale code for the next time that tickets go on sale.

If we get issued a refund, this means that we only get £50 face value back, we do not get our booking fees, or postage costs and our time and stress back in booking them. This means that come the time of the new Glasgow date, tickets will be sold as a lottery/on a first come first served basis.

This is wrong. This means that SOME fans who were scheduled to go to the concert on Tuesday the 4th of July will not get issued with other tickets because they will more than likely sell out in minutes due to high uproar and high demand.

This NEEDS to be sorted. We want pre-sale codes for the next time. We paid to go to this concert, we would like to still see the concert. We dont want money back to then try and grab tickets by chance next time. Its going to be more difficult and people will have less chances of getting now.

Pre-sale codes, re-issued tickets, using existing tickets etc will solve the problem that 30,000 fans will have when the time comes to buy more tickets when they go on sale.

We want a guaranteed chance of entry to the next show. Not a first come first served basis chance when we were issued to go to the concert in the first place and I reckon that tickets will sell out to those who werent even meant to be coming to the 4th of July show.

It is very unfair that ticket companies are just trying to give us a refund to make us happy and to shut us up because it gets us out of their hair. This needs sorted
