The selection of biodegradables available for everyday use is limited. Though for this issue there are many levels of people to blame, I would like to bring awareness to the producer for the greater selection of biodegradables. Consumers are most likely to buy biodegradables when there is plenty to choose from. There are many alternatives to plastic, but most people go for the easiest and most common options. The attention biodegradable alternatives need can be done so by the producers. Whether it be large supercenters, or local grocery stores. Biodegradable alternatives should be available to everyone and the choice to buy those products should be influenced more than plastic. Companies should focus on this even if the government does not require them to do so. Recycling, and recycled products are not cutting it for the environment. I know how easy it is to buy plastic everything because it is needed on the daily basis. Therefore, I propose that there be a greater selection of biodegradable products pushing away the need for plastic. This is one of the main steps toward helping the world become almost plastic free.

Some alternatives to plastic are:

Glass, stainless steel, beeswax, fiber cloth, and wood among other things. Bio plastics made from plants, and mushroom are one of the best alternatives because of their quick decomposition.
