Petition update

An update from Chris McEleny on the Campaign to save the Intensive Care Unit at IRH

Oct 4, 2020 —

Hello,

I wanted to thank you for joining over 7,500 people in just over a day that have signed the petition to demand the Health Board reverse their decision to close the ITU / Intensive Care Unit at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

Since the Greenock Telegraph broke the story on Saturday I have been overwhelmed by the volume of support for the campaign. Please, if you can continue to share the petition with your friends and family so that we can get even more people to sign join us to save the ITU.

I have written to the Chair of the Health Board to demand that the decision is overturned. This week I will also make sure the Health Board and the Health Secretary are made fully aware of the level of opposition to this decision that exists in our community.

Inverclyde needs a good local hospital and the people of Inverclyde deserve one. Over the past months we stood to applaud our amazing NHS staff, now we can show them support by ensuring that they can continue to deliver the crucial care at our ITU at Inverclyde Royal.

If there is any further info on how you can help the campaign to Save the ITU I will be be back in touch to let you know.

Thank you for your support.
Take Care, and Stay Safe

Chris McEleny
