Salsa With Silvia has one of the largest followings in DC of people who enjoy the fun dance classes that the studio offers. With the growing demand for the classes, the business is in a great need to expand and move to a larger location that can offer more than one class at the same time. The new location will add after school dance programs for children, as well as discounts for veteran families and people with lower income. The new studio will open positions and provide work for students who are looking to gain hands on experience. Salsa With Silvia is aiming to open the largest Latin dance studio in DC to serve as a community dance center where people of all ages can enjoy learning music and dance.

The new location has been allocated and it will feature 2,600sq ft of space with 3 separate dance studios, bathrooms, waiting/lounge/registration area. It will also have the ability to combine the 3 studios in one for larger events such as community social dances, weddings, birthday parties, corporate events and more. The new studio is located at 3232 Georgia Ave. NW, DC, right on the border of Columbia Heights and Park View; an up-and-coming area with a rapidly growing number of new families and children.

Currently the property is an empty warm shell and the total build out is quoted at $230,000. Salsa With Silvia ran a successful crowd funding campaign and raised over $16,000 but we are still far from our goal.

We are applying for a grant from the city, which supports small businesses to improve the great corridors of DC like Georgia Ave. We believe that we are qualified for the grant and we are asking for your support. By signing this petition you are helping us prove that we have a great support and that the new space is a much needed addition to the Columbia Heights neighborhood and the entire DMV.

Thank you!
