I would like to make the change in our city for our mandatory trash service to now be voluntary.  We are forced each month to pay our fee with our city water bill only for the service to be below par.  Issues include the service being completed days and weeks behind schedule, full service not being completed when the service is being provided, and poor practice during the service such as damage or removal of the trash bin.  Please understand that I am not pushing to have the service removed for this who wish to keep it.  Simply put I am pushing to make it one that is voluntary and I need your support.  In addition to meeting the needs of our town it is my hope that the reduction in customers will allow for the service to be provided more efficiently for those who made the choice to keep it. I feel strongly that we are being taken advantage of since we can’t opt out of the service without losing our ability to have water and sewage services for our home.  Money is hard earned and where it goes should be questioned. We The People deserve a voice and deserve to have our trash handled properly and effectively.
