The unprecedented National Bush Fire Disaster has wiped out the homes of hundreds of Australians and everything they had.

I call on Scott Morrison and ALL Australian MP's to enact a once-off National Disaster Re-establishment Grant of $50,000 to those who have lost their homes and either had no insurance or their insurance doesn't cover bush fires, so they can begin to establish their homes and lives again. It is to be a grant, no interest and no strings attached. None of the money is to go to agencies or services, but direct to those confirmed to have lost their homes.

If Australia can provide $50 million to celebrate the upcoming 250th anniversary of Cook’s landing or $17.1 million to bring Aussie TV to the Pacific region, or $10 million to subsidize Public Servants car-parking in the ACT or $4.4 billion in subsidies to Adani Coal Mine, then Australia CAN afford to support hard working Aussies who have lost everything!!! Especially when us Tax Payers footed the $400,000 bill for Office Expenses claimed by Scott Morrison as the Minister of Soc Services in 2015 (https://www.news.com.au/finance/work/leaders/where-is-all-our-money-going-how-politicians-are-really-spending-our-cash/news-story/52db5922a7d32b80725e7050bbde3cea

WHY? These grants put lives back on track, give stability and hope whilst dealing with trauma and personal loss and provide a base to rebuild lives and homes. It also contributes to the local economy rebuilding towns by way of goods and services, builders, plumbers, electricians, flooring, roofers and a multitude of others.

If nothing else it helps reduce the burden of the cost of counselling for trauma, depression and PTSD, antidepressants, shattered marriages, healthcare for stress induced ailments and disease, unemployment benefits, emergency public housing, loss of business and productivity. Australians used to look after each other, now we must do so again!

Celeste Barber an Australian Comedian has raised $14 million for our HEROES the Firefighters. Truly well deserved. The Firies should never have had to fight fires without much needed respiratory masks to protect them from carcinogens. The ScoMo  Governement didint even do this basic thing for our Firies

Without pressure and Public Hue and Outcry the ScoMo government will likewise do nothing to help all those who have lost their homes and all they had. Please bring pressure to bear by signing this petition to enact these one off grants

Im not suggesting a free for all hand out. House loss is to be confirmed through those on the front-line. For those where insurance covers their home loss then only an Emergency National Disaster Grant of say $10,000 for immediate needs and likewise to those who were renting.

Come on Australia, stand-up and fight for our fellow Aussies!
