Since COVID-19 was introduced to the United States in March of 2020, the homeless population has been at a steady increase and has had greater risk factors. With a vulnerable population, like adolescents, risk factors are worse. We are hoping to catch the attention of grant writers and funders who want are responsible for the monetary funds that are allocated for homeless families and homeless youth so that can be used as needed instead of what they were given to shelters and other agencies for since there are unforeseeable circumstances that can and will happen (Ex. COVID-19). There are also instances where there is not enough of the monetary funds to run a proper and safe shelter which is detrimental to youth and families and how they are found on the streets.
