My brother has spent the last 18 years of his life in prison. He was sentenced up to 52-75 years for multiple charges. The state didn't allow for him to serve his sentences concurrently, instead he's serving them consecutively. This means that my brother, my moms son, my nieces father will most likely die in prison. As his family we aren't justifying his actions by any means, however the punishment doesn't fit the crime. We are asking that the parole board or anyone with capabilities to assist or help to get his sentences to run concurrently. If this changed happened it would allow my brother to come home and spend time with our mom. It would allow him to build healthy relationships with his daughters and grandchildren. We have seen too many violent crimes get less punishment. The charges against him were for simple burglary(non-violent and never armed). We are asking for fairness.
