Our proposed policy is to have a class to raise suicidal awareness. This high-school class would inform youth on mental health relating to suicide and how to help those with suicidal thoughts. We would like to have this class in all schools in Delaware but will start at Newark Charter. This class would teach about the basics of self-diagnosis in yourself and how to see the warning signs in others. This would also teach youth how to support their friends struggling with suicidal thoughts. Finally, this class would go over emergency lines and people to talk to.
