Grant Paul Simpson the Freedom Of Cumbria for guiding England to Under 20 World Cup glory

On Sunday 11th June 2017, England beat Venezuela 1-0 to win the FIFA Under 20 World Cup - their first global success in "the beautiful game" since 1966 and all that.
The success has been masterminded by a Cumbrian - Paul Simpson was born in Carlisle on 26 July 1966, 4 days before THAT glorious day. As a player he won 5 England Under 21 caps and played for Manchester City, Oxford United and Derby County (among others) before coming back home to play for and then manage, Carlisle United, guiding them back into the Football League in 2005 and League 2 Champions the following year..
Since 1997, England had failed to qualify for the Under 20 World Cup 4 times and on the 4 occasions they DID qualify, didn't win a single game in 13 attempts (7 draws, 6 defeats)
In just 4 months as Under 20 Manager, Paul Simpson has turned the fortunes round - and then some - of England's "Young Lions" as well as laying strong and stable foundations for future success at a higher level.
But most of all, he has made the wonderful county of Cumbria immensely proud of his exploits and it is only fitting that he be duly honoured for this historic achievement.
As a Proud Cumbrian and football fan myself, it gives me great pleasure to create this petition.
