Right now I am involved in a court case against my Grandchild’s Father for a contact / visitation order… I have been fighting for two years and have been told to sit down in court when trying to ask to be heard. The last court case I attended, the judge was not impressed that my lawyer wasn’t there as I finally got excepted for legal Aid. A lawyer hasn’t been assigned  to take my case yet and the Judge said I had better have lawyer and all documents supporting my claim by Oct 5 th or it will be thrown out…I felt like she was  treating me in total disrespect because I don’t know how to use the Judicial System 

I had a very close relationship with my Grand daughter before CFS apprehended her from my daughter and after I helped the Father gain custody so she would be in a stable home, he cut off all visitation with me and my daughter… I have heard from other people that it is almost impossible for Grandparents to have a day or any right to see the children of no fault of their own this needs to change…

my Granddaughter has a whole other side of the family who love and adore her and she’s been ripped away from her family including two younger sisters… One of them she spent two years with before CFS became involved…

Why In every province is there Grandparents rights but not in Alberta??? All of the others Provinces have more rights to their Grandkids then a born and raised Calgary Albertan who loves her Grandchild and did nothing to have her ripped out of our family??? Why is it that I and the rest of my family are being alienated for my daughters actions?? I am willing to start a petition and fight for my Grand daughter with all I have in me this law needs to be changed!!!
