Our nation is under a global pandemic. Hundreds of thousands of people are testing positive for COVID daily. With the new omicron variant, the CDC is urging both vaccinated and unvaccinated people to be extra careful. This new variant is said to suppress the vaccines antibodies leaving people vulnerable for infection. Students at Grand Valley State University should not have to choose between their health and education. GVSU should allow students the option to attend in person classes with online segments available for students who do not feel comfortable going on campus. Although there are vaccination requirements and daily check ins in place this is not enough to protect against this highly contagious disease. GVSU please consider this petition as a desperate ask from your fellow students who are only asking for a chance to protect themselves and their family during these unprecedented times. Thank you!
