Teresa Black started this petition to Grand Junction

The facilities where the Junior College World Series and the Grand Junction Rockies games are played, Suplizio Field, are not accommodating for people with disabilities and the elderly. The stands were built without hand rails and there is not enough seating in the first two or three rows reserved for people who cannot climb stairs for health reasons. Each year, I hear about elderly and disabled spectators falling down the concrete steps. Several family members and friends have stopped attending games because they cannot climb the stairs any longer. It is sad to see fans give up their passion because the facility isn’t handicapped accessible. There is no reason why this facility, which was remodeled in 2012, wasn’t brought up to standards. Those with mobility issues should be welcomed to the ball field, not forced to give up one of the few enjoyable pass times they have because no one thought to make the facility inclusive. GJ, Either install some handrails, or set aside a few rows of accessible seating in a specific section for those who cannot climb stairs safely. Better yet, do both! Let’s make Grand Junction welcoming to all baseball fans!
