The current existence of a road barrier delays emergency response time from the RCMP detachment in Grand Falls - Windsor. Response time from the detachment is delayed by existing road barrier as officers have to drive additional streets and an on ramp as opposed to having to just cross a section of highway immediately in front of the detachment to gain access to the eastbound lanes of traffic. This additional driving time is an obstruction to general health and safety of residents and eastbound traffic on the Trans-Canada Highway
