Art History Midterm March 6th, 2017

This is a petition has been made to bring attention to what we feel was an unjust form of formal examination which occurred on March 6, 2017 for History of Art II. We, as a student body, feel that the midterm exam that took place should not have been allowed to be sent out for the following reasons;
Grammar mistakes and sentence structure of the questions made it difficult to read and therefore difficult to understand.
Exam format didn’t “flow” or make sense (i.e word banks for fill in the blank questions being 3 pages ahead of the questions and no explanation of how to answer questions correctly whether it be circle or “write in” answers).
Picture quality made it hard to see the images that needed to be identified.
35 multiple choice/fill in the blank/image identification questions that most completed in 20-35 minutes shouldn’t have been the mode of examination for 25% of the final course grade.
The following students agree with the issues noted above and would like to have the midterm exam that was completed on March 6th looked over and have the grades associated with the midterm looked over as well. Many of us are doing well in this class and are confused as to how this exam was allowed to be sent out and how we failed the midterm. Please review our petition and take our complaint into consideration before the final exam on April 19th, 2017.
