Keep Wester Inch's roads safe
This petition had 247 supporters
Wester Inch is a growing community and as a result of this there is significant traffic particularly on Leyland road up and around Simpson Primary School.
The impact of this is an increased danger to pupils and pedestrians especially at school and nursery pickup and drop off times.
Wester Inch Community Association (WICA), Simpson Primary's Parent Council and Councillor Cartmill feel strongly about keeping Wester Inch a safe village and as such, approached West Lothian Council (WLC) to discuss remedies to help with the issue.
We are extremely disappointed with WLC’s response, where they are of the opinion that no action is required.
We are urging you to sign this petition to demonstrate to WLC the widespread concern of the community on this issue.
What we request:
The Parent Council of Simpson Primary School and WICA with the full support of our councillor, Cllr Harry Cartmill, demand of West Lothian Council that action is taken to put in place agreeable traffic calming measures on Leyland Road, adjacent to Simpson Primary School.
Please note that the petition is not asking the community to agree to specific measures discussed in the correspondence to date. The petition is looking for support from the community in order to ask the council to acknowledge there is a problem in the highlighted area and to engage, once again, in communication to work towards a solution.
We ask all residents and people affected by the roads/traffic issue to show their support by signing the petition, to help us make a difference.
