GPF barracuda swim team is the highlight of summer for many local kids. Unfortunately, due to lack of leadership and hiring of an actual head coach that knows how to properly run a swim program, the program is suffering.

Don't get us wrong, we love our past lifeguard coaches, but every other park hires a trained head swim teach coach to successfully run the program.

GPP has had a set adult coach for many years. Jackson and Colleen Joagn who are also on the Board of Gators- a local club team which brings a wealth of knowledge.
GPP swim team has a web page dedicated to just their swim team. It offers schedules, links to sign up for parent volunteers, coaches names and contact information. Their team tryouts begin 10 days before Farms. GPP cost for 2022 is 130.00/swimmer. GPF is $150.

GPW has their own web page and a constant adult head coach for many years. Gregg Wolff brings not only his own years of experience with Woods year after year, but as a Grosse Pointe South coach for years as well. In addition, up until last year, they had an adult assistant coach whom also came from a local club team as a coach. Woods swim team has a web page dedicated to just their swim team. It offers schedules, links to sign up for parent handbook, they pay $85/swimmer for 2022. GPF is $150.

GPC, has their own website as well including a live schedule, parent information, parent sign up, clothing/gear ordering information. 2022 fees: $85 per swimmer.

Unlike other cities, GPF has resisted hiring a professional coach, even those expressing interest.

If it's a budget issue, please let us know so we can work on raising the funds. If there is another issue, please let us know how we can work through it for a successful summer swim program.

WE CAN DO BETTER.

Thank you,
