Susan Gathercole started this petition to GP Surgeries and The National Health Service

We the people are concerned that telephone consultations are not a safe way to diagnose  patients medical and mental health conditions which are now not being diagnosed or diagnosed to late to be treated.

Blood pressure appointments, peakflow assessments and the niggly things that may be masking real engagement with GPS have no way to be assessed properly. Tumours are going undiagnosed, symptoms are not explored, medication reviews by a pharmacist practitioner are missing something implicit to the patient, and reactions to change are not monitored.

Patients want to see their GP, they want to be examined, diagnosed, treated and heard.

What sets GPS above other healthcare workers?

How many people have to die because their GP surgery will not give them an appointment.

How many elderly or frail people are not able to get through to their Surgeries.

The fear is that like many things it will become the norm not to see patients.
