Our region's chalk streams have dried up and we are now drawing unsustainably on limited aquifer water. We have one of the lowest levels of rainfall in the country. Every College gardener and river watcher will tell you the Cam was at 30% of it is usual capacity last summer. Trees are dying. Yet we are still developing new housing and growing the city. Proper, serious, long-term water shortages are coming. How can a train washing facility in the heart of the city be justified?

This development is wrong - to be near so many residential houses is surely against people’s human rights ?

I am very concerned about the effect of this on the local environment - how can anyone think building a trainwash in the middle of a densely populated area is a good idea? Have already been woken up multiple times by 4am 'piling noise'.

GTR's disregard for the effect of this monstrosity on residents' lives is appalling

I worry about noise and pollution in a residential area. There are more suitable areas

This is a totally inappropriate development in this area. It makes a mockery of the conservation area status. This is a residential area not industrial. The hours of operation will destroy the local environment There are many alternative locations on the railway network for a facility like this.

It makes no sense to have a train wash that serves the whole of East Anglia located in a residential area (in fact, in a Conservation Area) where it will tower over their gardens.

Noise and visual pollution unnecessary, locate it in an industrial Area instead

This is too big and noisy to be so close to habitation.
