Elinor Rose started this petition to Governors and Head Teacher of Seaford Primary

As members of the Seaford Primary School community we support a move to remote education for an initial period of 2 weeks, with the school remaining open to vulnerable children and the children of key workers. We also ask that provision is made to provide lunch to children who recieve free school meals, but are learning remotely.

We know that ultimately school is the best place for children, but are extremely concerned for the safety of children, staff (currently working without PPE) and the community as a whole and also wish to reduce the pressure on our hospitals.

There has a been a 700% increase in cases in the Lewes district which covers Seaford in the last 7 days. SAGE advised the government on 22nd Dec that it's highly unlikely tier 4 restrictions alone, with schools remaining open, will be sufficient to reduce the spread of the new Covid strain.

We take this action protect the health of our children and the staff who put so much time and effort into educating them.
