Representative Jake Wheatley has introduced a bill to legalize recreational marijuana. This bill if passed would also immediately release people jailed for crimes associated with cannabis. This bill does not allow public use of marijuana or driving under the influence of cannabis.  Between the years of 2010 - 2016 marijuana related arrests rose a shocking 33 percent. Governor Tom Wolf responded to the proposition on December 19, 2018 stating “More and more states are successfully implementing Marijuana legalization, and we need to keep learning from their efforts. Any change would take legislation. But I think it’s time for Pennsylvania to take a serious and honest look at recreational marijuana.” Let’s use this petition as an opportunity to help with the push to legalize the use of recreational marijuana in Pennsylvania!
