My daughter was struck by a motorist and critically injured. She was left with a traumatic brain injury due to someone's inability to pull off the road to make or answer a phone call.
"In 2010, there were almost 14,000 crashes in Pennsylvania where distracted driving played a role, with nearly 1,100 of those crashes involving a handheld cellular phone."
Currently Pennsylvania does not prohibit use of cell phones while driving. "It is estimated that 10% of the more than 10,000 annual distracted driving crashes in Pennsylvania are the result of handheld devices.".
I don't want to see anyone else have to suffer what could be catastrophic life altering consequences due to distracted driving. No call or text is worth risking the lives of others.
