Simply put, children will not be able to keep a mask on for 8 solid hours without constantly readjusting it and touching their face!  This will likely cause far more viral transmission than not wearing one.  The teachers focus will be more on their relentless pursuit of ensuring the children’s hands stay off their face than it will be actually teaching them!  In addition, many other health issues can arise with prolonged use such as headaches, too much carbon dioxide inhalation, etc.  Let’s be honest...The data shows that children are not the main carriers of this virus. Has anyone thought about the social impact of this mandate?  It’s vitally important (especially for the younger children) to be able to see their teacher’s facial expressions and vice versa!  Imagine story time with both the teacher and students wearing a mask; that just would not be the same!  At the end of the day, parents should be the ones making the decision if it’s best for their child to wear a mask.  We know our kids better than anyone and we have their best interest at heart!  

Besides, this is America!  A “mandate” of this nature pushes the boundaries of power!
