On September 2, Governor Ted Strickland commuted Kevin Keith's death sentence to life without parole. In his statement, Governor Strickland said that there are "real and unanswered questions surrounding the murders for which Mr. Keith was convicted' and that 'the absence of a full investigation of other credible suspects [is] troubling."
