On the 2nd of April, 2021 Florida Governor Ron DeSantis took a stand against Vaccination Passports. This was a stand for the rights and freedoms of Floridians. As a result, many businesses and local government agencies have attempted to find a loophole to his executive order by mandating Florida residents and visitors to provide vaccination status or provide COVID-19 test results prior to entering a sporting event, business or facility. In Section 2 of the executive order “Businesses on Florida are prohibited from requiring patrons or costumers [from providing] any documentation certifying COVID-19 Vaccination or post transition recovery [proof] to gain access to, entry upon or service from the business.” However, in Section 5, “The requirements of this order does not otherwise restrict businesses from instituting “COVID-19 SCREENING PROTOCOLS”……

Although some Floridians are acceptable of following screening protocols such as temperature checks, filling out questionnaires or wearing a masks, many are not willing to provide private medical information such as COVID-19 vaccination status and COVID-19 test results prior to entering a business.
