Support ORCA's plan to save the Indian River Lagoon

Our beautiful lagoon is dying. The loss of 32,000 acres of seagrass meadows - just one symptom - is equivalent to the loss of a coral reef or a rainforest in terms of the impact it has on local wildlife, but it has gone largely unnoticed by the vast majority of local residents.
Given limited resources it’s very important that we identify the most damaging sources of pollution and focus our attention on those actions that will have the greatest impact on improving the health of the Lagoon. The Ocean Research & Conservation Association (ORCA) has developed a Campaign for a Clean Indian River Lagoon (check out their website at teamorca.org). ORCA is the world’s first technology-based aquatic conservation organization.
Using science, ORCA wants to find solutions to restore our beautiful Indian River Lagoon.
With FAST™ (the fast assessment of sediment toxicity), ORCA will create a pollution map of the entire 156 miles of the Indian River Lagoon so they can identify the accumulation of pollutants at every site.
They also want to install 50 Kilroy™ water monitoring devices in the lagoon so they can track critical information important to the health of our waters.
ORCA's science based technologies will identify pollutants, determine their source so they can be corrected or eliminated and nature can be restored.
