Mr. Couch used the arguement of "affluenza", stating that he was too rich to know better and that his parents never taught him right from wrong. He argued that since he was only ever taught that money solves all his problems then he shouldn't be held accountable for his actions. The judge in the case seemed to feel the need to prove his arguement by sentencing him to 10 years probation and to recommended a rehab this kid has already been too before.

 He stole beer from Wal-mart, was over triple the legal alcohol limit, was underaged, injured 11 people resulting in 4 deaths and 2 of his passengers being in critical condition. One who is now paralyzed and only able to communicate through blinking his eyes. How in the world is 10 years probabtion and counseling any form of justice?

  This sets a dangerous precedent for any rich defendent to use "affluenza" as a get out of jail card whenever they hurt someone. Justice is supposed to be impartial. It shouldn't matter what your race, religion, gender or economic standing is. If you messed up you're supposed to take resposibility and live with the consequences no matter who you are. Money is not an excuse to kill people.
