Robert Barker started this petition to Governor Ralph Northam

A sentence modification aligned with the Virginia Sate Guidelines will reduce Robert Barker's sentence based on the mitigating factors of the case, lack of criminal history and the crime in which he has been charged. Following an isolated incident in 2017, Robby received a sentence nearly double that of which is stated in the Virginia State Guidelines. If these guidelines were followed, he would have received between 5 and 13 years. As a result, we are petitioning Governor Ralph Northam for a conditional pardon in order to have this sentence reviewed and modified to better align with the guidelines set by the state.

Robby was born and raised in Hampton, Va and at a young age fell in love with sports. He found himself coaching both baseball and football most of his adult life. Later he became a strength and conditioning coach with a love of helping people, particularly the youth. Robby has also dedicated 7 years to coaching and training football for Bethel High School where he helped kids from all walks of life. With all of his hard work and dedication, Robby, became a cornerstone in the community.

Robby has the support of city school officials, principals, teachers, law enforcement personnel, co-workers, former athletes and coaches. The list goes on. In the event of a favorable outcome with a conditional pardon, Robby, has been offered the opportunity to become a motivational speaker. He plans on speaking to the youth on making good choices, how to identify warning signs while dealing with unstable people, when and how to seek help such as counseling, when police should be involved, and gun violence.

Your support is appreciated. Please spread the word, and thank you for being a part of Robby's Journey.
