As uncertainty remains about the pandemic and the risk of COVID-19 reinfection, Governor Scott has laudably taken a "go slow" approach to opening up the state as we recover from the first wave of coronavirus. However, his most recent "concerns" with the expansion of mail-in voting could undo the progress we have made to keep Vermonters safe and flatten the curve. No one should choose between their health and their right to vote as we continue to learn new information about the risks of returning to large group gatherings. Additionally, with new economic pressures on families, all Vermonters deserve a postage-paid opportunity to participate in their democracy without having to worry about taking time from work or filling the gas tank to do so.

Town officials and voters need clear information to prepare for safe, secure elections in the summer and fall. Please sign this petition to tell Governor Phil Scott that the safety of Vermonters should not be at odds with the integrity of our elections. We must act now and err on the side of public health to hold our Vermont elections by mail on August 11 and November 3.

Sign this petition to tell Governor Scott that we MUST pursue an expansion of mail-in voting.
