In order to flatten the curve and keep our state below pandemic levels we request that you place an order on the entire state of  Nebraska to shelter-in-place similar the shelter in place policies that are already being implemented in other states due to Covid-19.  This request is submitted on 4/1/2020.  We feel your decision to keep social distancing on this date is insufficient to prevent a high number of deaths and flatten the curve of this pandemic.  

Many people in your state have already chose to do this on their own, but it isn’t enough.  As you have seen, this virus spreads quickly.  A great number of carriers are asymptomatic and we are not sufficiently prepared to take on a pandemic in rural Nebraska.  It is most contagious before symptoms arise.  This is dangerous!  It is imperative that you make a decision for your people.  

There should be no lobby open for the fast food restaurants, if you contaminate the inside everyone is contaminated.  There are people in desperate need of surgeries that can not get them due to Covid-19 patients needing respirators.  You are also prolong the surgeries of those people in need.  Nothing good will come from waiting.  The saying that comes to mind is “If they are mad you’re doing it right.”  Isn’t that what people tell parents?  I implore you to shelter in place Governor.  For the safety of your people, make the responsible decision for them, order them to shelter-in-place.  Save lives!
