A day doesn't go by that someone in Springfield or Washington doesn't talk about jobs -- how to create jobs in Illinois and get our economy back on track.
Little do they know, there's already an industry in Illinois that -- with modest public investment -- supports more jobs than there are police officers, lawyers, or financial managers in the state. An industry that generates more than $2 billion in household income and hundreds of millions in state and local tax revenue each year.
It's time the arts industry in Illinois gets the recognition and investment it deserves.
Sign the petition urging Governor Pat Quinn to show his support for the arts by adopting the Make Art Work principles.
That industry is the arts industry, and just like any promising economic sector, it needs policies and incentives to support its growth. We need a statewide strategy to strengthen our artists and creative enterprises.
Please show your support for the arts by adopting the Make Art Work principles.
