Uphold the mandate of the people of Karnataka or order for re-elections

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

We are the responsible citizens of Karnataka. We are concerned about what transpires in our state. Please do not draw inferences or precedents from what happened in other states.

In Goa people’s mandate was not very clear about whom they selected. Congress was just 4 seats more than BJP. And also Congress did not show any interest to form government for 3 days and that’s when BJP requested to form government

Also in Manipur, people’s mandate was not unclear about whom they showed their support and hence the mandate was unsure. Congress was just 7 seats higher than the BJP.

Unlike these two states, the mandate in Karnataka is very clear and people have proved that their clear mandate is in favour of BJP to form a government and rule the state for the next 5 years. Also, BJP has clearly requested the Hon’ble Governor to give an opportunity to BJP to form a government.

It will be a disrespect to the form of democracy, if people’s mandate is not considered and by not giving foremost importance while inviting the single largest party to form the government.

JD(S) or Kumaraswamy does not the clear mandate of the people of Karnataka and hence should not be allowed to form a Government in Karnataka. If allowed will set a bad precedent that an opportunist and the minority voted party can play technically with democracy without the mandate of the people of Karnataka at large.

I hereby urge the Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka to consider the precedence of President R Venkatraman in 1989, when he invited Congress’s Rajiv Gandhi. In 1996, President Shankar Dayal Sharma invited Atal Bihari Vajpayee to form the government after the party emerged as the single largest party.

Courts cannot interfere with the Governor’s decision, but the people of Karnataka request with high respect to the Hon’ble Governor, to allow BJP to form the government and conduct a floor test, than allow the parties which do not have a clear mandate of the people of Karnataka.
