Covid-19 affected many people, people like me a senior in high school trying to figure out life, and graduate. My 10th grade year was cut in half because of Covid I couldn’t concentrate and was on the verge of failing that doesn’t look good on paper, my 11th grade started and I was still online trying to learn I’ve had to redo my English 3 credit 2 different times because I wasn’t learning. As school went on a lot of students where is the same situation as me we went on spring break and we ended up not going back and being thrown into online school, and in quarantine. Governor Ron DeSantis waived the FSA for that year. My classmates and I feel it’s unfair that he waived the FSA for the class of 2020, 2021 and 2023, as a 2022 graduate that is completely unfair, we had to go through the same stuff everyone else did and we are getting treated like we don’t matter. When quarantine happened we had to join zoom meetings and get work off of a website called Schoology, no one showed us how to use it, it was hard to turn stuff in or even be able to do the work. Most students wouldn’t or couldn’t join the meetings to get the information we where supposed to be learning. Personally I feel it was very unplanned and unorganized, when I was in quarantine it was hard to stay focused and many students felt the same way, when I came back to face to face school I was a teachers assistant, I seen what the teachers had to go through trying to hand two classes with most of them couldn’t keep up with more than one at a time. My fellow classmates and I feel like all standardized test should be waived for the year 2022
