Gubernatorial (Governor’s)Pardon to: The Governor of The State of California.
Hi, my name is Carl L. Walton. I am submitting this petition in hopes of being granted a Gubernatorial (Governor’s) Pardon by; The Governor of the State of California.
I have made many mistakes, wreck-less decisions that has allowed me to inflict pain on myself, others, including my friends, and family in the past. While growing up on ‘The East Side of Long Beach‘ and being ‘a middle child’, this was the recipe for disaster. As a teenager I chose to talk back, skip school, party, drink alcohol, smoke weed & cigarettes. Which were all prerequisites for me to embrace the gang culture. From there, I became a Juvenile Delinquent and evolved into a Convicted Felon in The State of California.
Getting older, and receiving News like: family or a close friend passed away’, ‘someone got married’, ‘someone’s having a baby’, or just looking at pictures of people enjoying life made me see what I was missing. I realized, that “life is too short to be back in jail again”. I knew, if I wanted to stay free I must change. And that’s when the process began. Once paroling from the (CDC) California Department of Corrections: I soon discovered that change wasn’t going to be easy in the environment I came home to. However, I was still determined to make the necessary adjustments if I wanted to be successful.
I began with rebuilding my relationship with God, remaining sober minded, restoring unhealthy relationships with my family, and choosing new friends. These were my building blocks and from there, I’ve been able to stay out of prison for approx. 12 consecutive years. Within the last 12 years, I’ve been honored to give back to the community. Over the span of 12 years, I’ve been off parole for 10years, got my record expunged in 2016 and I’ve completed many Rehabilitation Programs. I have also Volunteered at many non profit organizations, mainly in the City of Pasadena. I volunteered for Pasadena Health Department Nutrition Program, Al-kebulan Cultural Center, Friends Indeed, Villa Park Rooftop Garden, La Pintaresca Library, Outward Bound Adventures (OBA), and The Flintridge Foundation [just to name a few]. I am also an Active Volunteer with C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) in the City of Altadena, and I work as a full-time employee at REI in Arcadia. Reason for This petition in request of a gubernatorial (Governor’s) pardon is, so I can travel, apply for certain positions in the job market, and obtain state licenses in order to increase financial stability for myself so I can extend that to others. Thank you all for your love, time contributions and support. Peace.
