Mandatory closure of all daycare centers in Alabama until we flatten the curve.

Mandatory closure of all daycare centers in Alabama until we flatten the curve.
Why this petition matters

We had a mandatory closure of all childcare centers on March 19th due to the Coronavirus. On the 20th it was announced that we could re-open but with strict guidelines. Most of the centers in our area remained closed. We could not accommodate all our children and parents and we felt we could not provide a safe and healthy environment for the children. It would be impossible to keep children 6ft away and the teachers would still have to tend to daily routine care especially with our infants. if we were to open, it would be like spreading a wild fire. On a normal day just trying to keep germs and illness spreading is a difficult task. We understand the importance of childcare. Believe me. I am home with 6 kids. Our school age kids are safe at home and so should our little kids. I have called our Governor’s office for 4 days and all I get is an answering machine with no return calls. I understand that are busy with many issues but this one needs to be heard as well. Would you be willing to take your child into a building that 50 kids have walked in withtheir parents and the teachers. I have stayed home except for going to get necessary items at the store but I didn’t take my kids. Please help sign so we can all get back to work.
