The people of South Carolina wanted the Confederate Battle Flag removed from the top of the State House, only for it to be moved to an even more prominent location. The Confederate flag flies in the face of citizens for whom it is a symbol of the oppression their ancestors suffered under institutionalized slavery. In the healing spirit of reconciliation, the flag must be removed from all public places, in order that it be laid to rest and that South Carolinians may move forward embracing the fact that all are created equal. None who slaved or battled under this flag breathe this day's air. Let them ALL Rest In Peace.
