Brianna started this petition to Governor Lamont

As stylists, nail techs and other providers in the beauty industry we work inches away from people. There is no way for the provider to properly social distance themselves. We can spread clients out 6 feet apart but it's not enough when we work in close quarters. We spend sometimes hours with individuals doing color corrections and treatments. That is all the more exposure we open our selves up to and other coming and going from the salon. Some clients or even stylists could be asymptomatic and spread easy to someone. Providers can easy do hair cuts pretty quickly but if you have let's say a barber who does hair cuts in 15 minutes and either the barber or one of the 17 hair cuts done by appointment that day can easily turn into 18 people that was exposed to the virus. Hospital workers have proper protective wear and they are still coming down with the virus. Us providers need n95 masks, shields, gowns and lots of gloves to keep everyone safe. We do not have access to large amounts of n95 masks at a reasonable cost. We need protection we can not be just thrown to the wolves and asked to make it work. We have families. Some providers could have underlying health issues themselves. We all take pride in our careers and it's very rewarding but we all need to be smart. Safety , health and lives come first.

Please join me and signing this petition to let our government know we are not safe and we should be the last to open as beauty services are not essential in times like this. We will all be gray and shaggy together.
