Paul Leon was only 16 years old when he made the gravest mistake of his life. He took 2 lives and has been remorseful for his actions ever since. He was sentenced to 50  years to life in prison and has served his sentence as penance for his deeds.He has so far served 35 years of that sentence and has shown deep contrition for the lives he took. He's been a model prisoner, mentor to others, and worked hard to pay for his guilt.

While there he has met the love of his life and would give anything to spend the rest of his life with her but they are separated by these prison walls. He is trying to petition the governor for clemancy in a time when many prisoners were sent home to prevent the spread of COVID-19. He has shown model behavior but was still left behind bars during the height of the pandemic. Now he wants to go home to be with his wife.

35 years is more than enough time to pay as repentance for murder and he has shown deep remorse for the actions that took place in his youth. But now it is time for him to be allowed to go home to the family that loves him and misses him. To get to be with the woman who took a chance on him. He has given his entire youth and adulthood as payment for these actions. Is it not time for him to see compassion?

Let Paul come home. Let him become a productive member of society while he still can. Let him show that he has learned his lesson and that he has been successfully been rehabilitated in prison.
