My fiancé has been incarcerated for 15 years and deserves to be home with his family. He made a mistake when he was younger and regrets it every day. He and his best friend got into a heated argument and my husband defended himself and ultimately accidentally killed his best friend. My fiancé was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison. His earliest eligibility date for parole is in 2026.The pain my fiancé feels everyday from losing is best friend is unbearable. He’s remorseful and just wants a chance to prove himself. He is not a monster that they tried to make him look like 15 years ago. He has bettered himself in so many ways. He was 19 years old when he went in he is now 34 years old and has done tremendous work on himself. He has done any and every program there possibly is and he has also went as far as to go back to school for his college degree as well as speaks 5 different languages. He is a role model to my 3 year old son who looks up to him and asks for daddy everyday. It breaks my heart that he is in there and not here with us. I ask that the State of New York grant my fiancé clemency because he truly deserves it. I love this man and need him home he helps me be a better person just by knowing what he has been through.
