Too many errors of judgement in past; as noted from those released after long incarcerations. Life imprisonment at least gives future chance of righting a wrong.

Glover Heard received a deal from the prosecution in exchange for his testimony. Heard was sentenced to 15 years to life, while Montgomery was sentenced to death. Heard's story changed five times, and only on the fifth time was Montgomery included in the story.

The death penalty should be banned and in cases like this, when there is significant doubt, it is absolutely immoral to carry it out. There is no way to correct the mistake when someone is wrongfully executed.
