Iva Juka started this petition to Governor Jerry Brown

Within 2018 alone, California has endured it's most destructive wildfire in recorded history. The Camp Fire scorched through California's land from the 8th of November to the 25th. In just seventeen days, 153,000 acres were destroyed; including 18,000 structures, most of which were homes. Not only has this been the most destructive wildfire ever to be recorded, but it is also the most violent - leaving 85 people dead and 475 missing. Where did California go wrong in protecting its residents? Most people claim that they did not even know about the evacuation from the Camp Fire. The authorities, especially Governor Jerry Brown, are responsible for the public's safety and should alert them at all times about devastating forest fires and evacuation procedures. No one should have to feel unsafe in their own home, so why don't we do something about it? Sign this petition if you believe that the state of California needs to emphasize a more efficient and effective presentation of ways to keep their residents safe.
