What an outpouring of love can do! Thanks to people who signed my first petition and the incredible reaction of audiences to the film about my husband, Mark DeFriest, he was miraculously granted parole 3/10/15, after the Florida Parole Commission voted to reduce his date an unprecedented 845 months. That's our power used to move our democracy towards justice.

But Mark is still in prison, looking at up to 5 more years on parole-ineligible short sentences - to be served consecutively! - for prison contraband ‎violations given back in the early 90s and 2000s when he never thought he would get out. Remember, he is mentally ill too, but has no violent convictions.

Every day is a torment, every day he is in harm's way, every day I fear I'll lose him before he gets out or I leave this earth (I am 85). Help me get him out!

We can do this. We did the hard work already getting his mountain of time reduced so much. Sign the petition and send a letter to Gov Brown and Gov Scott. They have the power to pardon Mark, and they can use it for a good purpose!
