Demika Rogers is currently serving a sentence of life without parole. She has been incarcerated for 15 years in the department of corrections. And an addtional two years in Denver County jail. When She 23 she got into an altercation and ended up taking someone's life. It was not pre-planned nor was it premeditated. Her and sister were being attached and she was trying to protect them. Demika is a wonderful person and is constantly growing and pouring life into other people including myself. One impulsive decision should not and does not define the person that she is. Since being incarcerated she has taken any classes she could to better herself. She has created her own program called Women of Influence. This is a program to give women with lengthy sentences hope. And to bridge the gap to the community. Demika also played the leading role of Ebenezer Scrooge when 30 offenders from D.W.C.F. went to the Newman Center and performed " A Christmas Carol." Directed by d.u.p.a.i. Demika also has deep involvement with God behind bars and Red Rocks Church. Anywhere you see Demika you see her being a positive influence, looking for ways to give back. She will be a positive impact on any community she comes in contact with. She deserves to be free.  We are asking that she be granted clemency.
