We believe that all people deserve the right to marry the person they love, regardless of their gender. As a family of Arizonans, we believe that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect, but our state Constitution does not uphold that promise. Instead, we have written discrimination into law by excluding our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters from the union of marriage. Our nation rests upon the notion that all men are entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and until all Arizonans are allowed to marry the person they love, those rights are not being protected and upheld. We urge you to pass legislation repealing our state's Constitutional definition of marriage as between one man and one woman, and extend marriage rights to gay and lesbian couples in Arizona.
