As a parent of a school aged child, I feel that it is time that masks be made optional during the school day. Our children's lives have been turned upside down by this pandemic. Children are not in the high risk category for contracting and spreading the disease. Additionally, COVID numbers are declining and the cloth masks our children are wearing are not protecting them from or preventing the spread of COVID-19. We respect those who choose to disagree, but shouldn't we as parents be able to choose what is best for our individual children? Enough is enough.
