Helping the Homeless in Toronto.

Helping the Homeless in Toronto.
Why this petition matters
Homelessness is not just a challenge in one part of the world; it is a global issue affecting 2% of the world's population. That may not sound like a large percentage, but it equates to approximately 150 million people who do not have access to shelter. However, if we, as Canadian citizens, work together and step up to support those in need, we can make a difference. It will help the economy while also benefiting the community and the country by ensuring that people are healthy and safe no matter what. Having affordable housing, particularly if it is just a one-story apartment, is valuable for those who live outdoors because it means that they have a stable place to stay. They are more likely to be accepted into a job and therefore be able to make their own money and become financially stable if they own a house. This is beneficial to both the homeless and the government. The more people who are willing to find a job, the more money they gain, and the more money they earn, the more money they spend on things like food and water, and the more money they spend, the more money the companies selling earn, resulting in the government earning money because citizens pay taxes at the end of the year, which the government uses to provide us, citizens, with a wealth of services. Therefore, it benefits everyone.
