On April 8, 2021, Jose Gonzalez received a parole grant from Commissioner Patricia Cassady and Deputy Commissioner Daniel Blake of the California Board of Parole Hearings.  

Jose has earned his parole grant for the second time and has done everything asked of him but has not been released yet. We are asking for your support in sending Governor Gavin Newsom a clear message that you support the Board of Parole Hearing’s decision and that Jose has earned his release and should be allowed to finally come home.

The Parole Board said Jose exemplified rehabilitation.  Jose has upgraded educationally, he has engaged in extensive self help, he has worked with at-risk youths and veteran groups, he has demonstrated excellent institutional behavior and Jose has earned the lowest risk assessment possible.  Jose's exceptional record of rehabilitation was recognized by the Parole Board, they granted him parole and decided Jose is ready to rejoin his community.
