Ensure COVID-19 protections for Foster Families
Ensure COVID-19 protections for Foster Families
Current Indiana guidelines REQUIRE masks be worn, and require social distancing around people outside of your household. Yet foster children and families get no such protections. There is no repercussions for not maintaining appropriate safety precautions such as all persons wearing masks (obviously social distancing on visits is difficult with young children who do not understand the pandemic).
Indiana is in the top 10 number of COVID-19 cases per capita in the entire country, and there is only one county in the entire state below a level orange.
One state over Kentucky and Ohio have completely locked down, but foster parents here in Indiana are expected to risk the lives of themselves and their children- both bio and foster- without a thought.
Join us in signing a petition to send to Governor Holcomb to ensure protections for Foster children and families. We want to ask for only virtual visits in all level red counties and MANDATED masks until the end of the pandemic for the entire state.
WE DESERVE PEACE OF MIND AND PROTECTION DURING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC AS MUCH AS ANYONE ELSE. We cannot choose to keep everyone home- the least the state of Indiana can do is ensure safety percautions are taking place.
